Hi, my name is Jenne ( [jen-ee] )! As the blog description says I am a child of God, wife, mama, and creative homemaker….also a daughter, sister, friend, pediatric nurse, personal shopper/stylist, and the list goes on. Though the combination of these roles IS overwhelming at times, my faith is what keeps me going “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13, NLT). And, let’s be honest, a wonderfully supportive and patient husband doesn’t hurt!:) Speaking of my Mr. Wonderful, Mark and I have been married for almost two years and look forward to welcoming our little one this December! Mark is a mechanic/handyman, Marine, and one of the most caring, godly men I know! I am so blessed to have him as my partner in this life!
“Creative homemaker” is the only phrase I could think of to describe the many things I do at home. It involves cooking, hosting, cleaning and organization, interior decorating, DIY upcycle furniture projects, sewing, crafting, painting, and bargain hunting. My “honey-do list” is longer than the hub’s with all of the projects I create for myself! I hope to someday add gardening to this list, but as of right now my mama’s green thumb evades me. As personal shopper/stylist for myself and my family I have an outlet for my love of clothes, hair and makeup! Only one day comes to mind that my hubby hasn’t asked me if his outfit was acceptable. It happened to be the same day that the pastor mentioned being thankful that his wife helped him pick out his clothes every Sunday for church. I looked down to my husband’s feet and was greeted by shoes that he knows I don’t think go with anything, he turns to me and says “I don’t care today!” haha.
My current obsessions include anything vintage, soft floral patterns and mint green! I might even love mint more than gold, which for those who know me is crazy talk:) I’m pretty sure that I could have lived before the 1920’s and have been perfectly content–if you don’t know what a kitchen aid mixer or an iPhone 4 can do, how can you miss them, right?! In the next breath, I am saving up to purchase a DSLR camera soon so I can learn how to use it and take tons of pictures of my little one (Yes, I’m going to be that mom:) My idea of the perfect date is homemade pizza and snuggling up to my hubby in our chair and a half Lazy-Boy for a movie night in (doesn’t happen enough!) Add a glass of moscato for me (when not pregnant) and a guiness for him and the evening would be complete!
On this blog I look forward to sharing/documenting my many projects, recipes, hosting ideas, pregnancy updates and whatever God is doing in our lives! Hope that you are blessed somehow and find something useful!
