A few years ago I had my first slice of Cheesecake Factory’s Dutch Apple Caramel Streusel Cheesecake. Not a cheesecake lover? I wasn’t either, but let me tell you this one changed my mind! I knew immediately that I needed to learn how to recreate in in my kitchen, I mean who can afford to spend $7/slice whenever the craving arises?! Not this mama!
Here’s my take. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
1 3/4 c crushed graham crackers
1 stick butter, softened (not melted)
1/2 c sugar
Combine ingredients with a pastry blender and press into a 9″ springform pan. Chill in freezer for 10-15 minutes.
3 pkgs cream cheese
2/3 c sugar
1 c sour cream
1 tsp Vanilla
Combine ingredients, beating sugar and cream cheese together first. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into crust and bake for 45 min.
1/2 c brown sugar
1/3 c oats
1/3 c all purpose flour
1/4 c butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Saute apples in 1 Tbs butter, combine remaining ingredients using a pastry blender. Top cheesecake and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Chill in the fridge for 5-6 hours.
I have not yet attempted to add a caramel element as it seems to go over extremely well without it. If you have any suggestions on how to do so feel free to leave them in the comments. Enjoy!!!
