It’s hard to believe that we are now a family of four. We were so blessed to welcome our sweet boy, Henley Reid on Monday, February 16th at 3:12 in the afternoon. He was 7lbs 12oz and 20in long (still can’t believe that I had a baby under 8lbs!) I can’t wait to share my birth story, but until I have time check out our first pictures as a family of four!!
Our friend Zac from Green Couch Photography captured these awesome moments!
The shirt that I am wearing was a part of my “push present” from M. (I personally think every woman deserves to be recognized for pushing out a baby;) Throughout this pregnancy I had been anxious about delivery because of my first experience. I prayed for favor and had faith that God could make my experience completely different this time…IF He wanted to. In saying that I don’t mean that God would want me to endure the same hardships as I did the first time around without purpose. I recognized that my delivery would go in whatever way brought him the greatest glory. In some of my birth prep reading I was reminded that the outcome of a situation that we have kept in prayer is not the evidence of our faith. God is still good and worthy of our faith regardless of the outcome. For example, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had faith that God could save them from the fiery furnace (where they would be sent for refusing to worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s image of gold.) Their faith would not have been lacking and God would not have been any less good if He had not saved them. I had shared this with M and he remembered! This ampersand tee from She Reads Truth represents that exact story in Daniel 3. Their description of the shirt says that it “reminds us that our God is able to deliver us from all things. And if not, He is still good.” He gave me the shirt two days before I delivered because he couldn’t wait! haha Such a thoughtful reminder going into the big day. I’m pretty blessed by that man if you can’t tell;)
