WE ARE MOVING!!! We have been renting since last May and we close on our new house this month!! I will tell you more later about the real-estate drama that led to this point, but we are pumped to be so close! This is our adorable little house. We. Cant. Wait.
I have been dreaming up a series on making a rented space feel like home for this past year and, of course, left picture taking for the month of our move. I procrastinate well, as you can see. But hey, my house was SUPER clean. And it did make packing easier.
By the way, I find packing extremely cathartic. Moving can be so overwhelming but when I complete the tetris puzzle that is arranging our stuff perfectly in a box, it is like an antianxiety pill for me. I swear. I mean, I’m giddy just looking at the picture below. I know, I’m weird.
Our poor children pretty much live in their pjs from the night before and G ALWAYS has messy hair. He also ALWAYS decides that pants are unnecessary at some point during the day. Don’t worry, they get plenty of food and snuggles. And they don’t stink, so we’re doing something right. I think.
Mark is off for summer and being lazy, as usual (insert eye roll). I think he would actually like to go back to work after keeping up with the crazies (I mean sweet, wonderful, angelic children) for more of the week while I work. They have so much fun with Daddy though!
Henley can use his pointer to show you that he is 1, giggles and says “yeah” simultaneously when we finally figure out what he is saying, and resembles a drunk person when he runs. He can pull it off though. Ha! He also signs that he loves us by patting his chest. It is the sweetest thing ever! If you teach your babes any sign language at all, I recommend that one!
Greyson is SMART!! This was our conversation while I was at work on Friday after I recieved the picture below. G: I’m sorry you didn’t get to have fun with us, Mom. Me: I know, I wish I could be home playing with you buddy. But mommy has to work right now for our family and that is good, right? G: Yes, that is very helpful. It is currently a struggle to get him to be serious for a picture. Apparently that is too much to expect from a 3 year old. and that is a black eye from a fight with a cardboard box. I think the box won.
Mark and I started a Bible study for married couples this week, titled Two as One by Ryan and Selena Frederick. If you have not checked out their blog, Fierce Marriage, you should! Don’t you love when they ask you something like “How is your heart hardened towards your spouse and how can you remember to soften your heart toward them?” and you proceed to get into a fight because of your hardened heart?! Ha! We are thankful it was brought to light though, so we can be more aware of it! We are praying that this continues to focus our attentions on our purpose in marriage of glorifying God. You should check it out!
