Hey you! Goodness, I am way past due for a Life Actually post where I share life actually. It’s not all Pinterest perfect or Instagram worthy photos over here in the day to day. We’ve got a lot more mess and bedhead going on. Ha! So, if you’d like to see what we’ve been up to for the past few months, please keep reading!
Na-Na and Papa came down to help us celebrate Henley’s 2nd birthday back in February. I can hardly believe that he is 2! It’s likely because he is number 2 but he still seems like such a baby to me. Watching him as we sang to him and he blew out the candles was literally the CUTEST thing ever! He was smiling so big (in typical Henley fashion) and giggling as he looked around and saw all eyes on him. These photos are a bit blurry because I screen-grabbed them from a video, but I’m sure you get the picture. I love seeing them learn and grow at this stage. BUT, with Henley we are quickly learning that the terrible twos do exist. Within a day’s time he gave his brother a decent puncture wound to the scalp with a toy car, pulled a gallon of milk off the belt at the grocery store, and bonked his head on the ground for dramatic effect during an hour long tantrum. Hoping we will all survive this phase!
Henley has decided that he is over taking naps. BUT, if he sits still long enough in the late afternoon he is sure to pass out for 30 minutes to an hour and a half. He is still not great at independent play, so I am grieving the end of an official nap time, but it does also mean we will be able to be a lot more flexible with playdates and outings this summer. Also, big brother likes to give him kisses and toys while he is sleeping, which is pretty cute!
We have been sick SO MUCH since the New Year. Last winter was much the same, in spite of our best efforts to boost immunity. I’m not sure if it is this back and forth weather that leaves them prone to sickness but, we are so ready for Spring to be here to stay! We’ve had tons of pj days around here and have tried to make the best of it. The boys are probably better at this then we are, of course, but it is a good lesson in slowing down! Ha!
The boys are outside every chance they get! Before I got caught in the bottom right picture, I was able to capture some sweet moments of them looking at airplanes and catching bubbles with daddy. It’s pretty fun to watch all my guys play together! AND I certainly don’t mind the quiet inside sometimes! Ha!
Greyson created a new Instagram account to record his Lego creations. He has been building since he was two and a half, so it will be fun to see how his creations progress throughout the years! You can expect to see lots of airplanes, boats, and cars with really unique names. Be sure to follow him @g_legocreations
These guys are becoming the best of friends and it is so fun to see their relationship grow. Greyson, who was formerly against any type of nickname for Henley, has been calling Henley “Hen-Ben”. Mark and I have been working on tackling projects around the house together which is always more fun. We seem to energize each other and are a lot more productive in this manner than when we take a “divide and conquer” approach!
What has your life actually looked like lately? I would love to
commiserate, I mean hear. Ha! Please let me know below!
